Shree Swaminarayan Temple Bhuj. More by Navbhu. Matha Pachee. Offer the best flower to your beloved by winning this challenge.I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who is very dear to Lord Krishna, having taken shelter at His lotus feet. Our respectful obeisances are unto you, O spiritual master, servant of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami. You are kindly preaching the message of Lord Chaitanyadeva and delivering the Western countries, which are filled with impersonalism and voidism.
O most munificent incarnation! You have assumed the golden color of Srimati Radharani, and You are widely distributing pure love of Krishna. We offer our respectful obeisances unto You.
My Lord, You are the well-wisher of the cows and the brahmanas, and You are the well-wisher of the entire human society and world. O Lord, this material body is a lump of ignorance, and the senses are a network of paths to death. Somehow, we have fallen into this ocean of material sense enjoyment, and of all the senses the tongue is most voracious and uncontrollable; it is very difficult to conquer the tongue in this world. But You, dear Krishna, are very kind to us and have given us such nice prasadam, just to control the tongue.
I offer my respectful obeisances unto all the Vaishnava devotees of the Lord. They can fulfill the desires of everyone, just like desire trees, and they are full of compassion for the fallen souls. This sankirtana movement is the prime benediction for humanity at large because it spreads the rays of the benediction moon. It is the life of all transcendental knowledge.
It increases the ocean of transcendental bliss, and it enables us to fully taste the nectar for which we are always anxious. In these transcendental names You have invested all Your transcendental energies. There are not even hard and fast rules for chanting these names. O my Lord, out of kindness You enable us to easily approach You by Your holy names, but I am so unfortunate that I have no attraction for them.
In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly. I only want Your causeless devotional service, birth after birth. Please pick me up from this ocean of death and place me as one of the atoms at Your lotus feet.
When will my voice choke up, and when will the hairs of my body stand on end at the recitation of Your name? Feeling Your separation, I am considering a moment to be like twelve years or more. Tears are flowing from my eyes like torrents of rain, and I am feeling all vacant in the world in Your absence.
He is completely free to do anything and everything, for He is always my worshipful Lord, unconditionally. I was born in the darkest ignorance, and my spiritual master opened my eyes with the torch of knowledge.Vaishnavism is one of the major Hindu denominations along with ShaivismShaktismand Smartism. It is also called Vishnuismits followers are called Vaishnavas or Vaishnavites, and it considers Vishnu as the Supreme Lord.
The tradition is notable for its avatar doctrine, wherein Vishnu is revered in one of many distinct incarnations. The tradition is known for the loving devotion to an avatar of Vishnu often Krishnaand it has been key to the spread of the Bhakti movement in South Asia in the 2nd millennium CE.
Krishnaism becomes associated with bhakti yoga in the medieval period. Although Vishnu was a Vedic solar deity, he is mentioned more often compared to Agni, Indra, and other Vedic deities, thereby suggesting that he had a major position in the Vedic religion.
The ancient emergence of Vaishnavism is unclear, the evidence inconsistent and scanty. According to Dandekarwhat is understood today as Vaishnavism did not originate in Vedism at all, but emerged from the merger of several popular theistic traditions which developed after the decline of Vedism at the end of the Vedic period, closely before the second urbanisation of northern India, in the 7th to 4th century BCE. Syncretism of various traditions and Vedism resulted in Vaishnavism.
The Bhagavad Gita was incorporated into the Mahabharata as a key text for Krishnaism. Finally, the Narayana worshippers were also included, which further brahmanized Vaishnavism.
This complex history is reflected in the two main historical denominations of Vishnavism. According to Hardy[note 2] there is evidence of early "southern Krishnaism," despite the tendency to allocate the Krishna-traditions to the Northern traditions.
Devotion to southern Indian Mal Tirumal may be an early form of Krishnaism, since Mal appears as a divine figure, largely like Krishna with some elements of Vishnu. Their poems show a pronounced orientation to the Vaishnava, and often Krishna, side of Mal. But they do not make the distinction between Krishna and Vishnu on the basis of the concept of the Avatars.
After the Gupta age, Krishnaism rose to a major current of Vaishnavism, and Vaishnavism developed into various sects and subsects, most of them emphasizing bhaktiwhich was strongly influenced by south Indian religiosity . Modern scholarship posit Nimbarkacharya c. Vaishnavism in the 8th century came into contact with the Advaita doctrine of Adi Shankara.
Many of the early Vaishnava scholars such as Nathamuni, Yamunacharya and Ramanuja, contested the Advaita Vedanta doctrines and proposed Vishnu bhakti ideas instead.
The temples that the Alvars visited or founded are now known as Divya Desams. Their poems in praise of Vishnu and Krishna in Tamil language are collectively known as Naalayira Divya Prabandha divine verses.
The Bhakti movement of late medieval Hinduism started in the 7th-century, but rapidly expanded after the 12th-century. This period saw the growth of Vashnavism Sampradayas denominations or communities under the influence of scholars such as RamanujacharyaVedanta DesikaMadhvacharya and Vallabhacharya. Even Meera bai princess of Mehwar and Rajasthan took part in this specific movement. In North and Eastern India, Vaishnavism gave rise to various late Medieval movements Ramananda in the 14th century, Sankaradeva in the 15th and Vallabha and Chaitanya in the 16th century.
Historically, it was Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who founded congregational chanting of holy names of Krishna in the early 16th century after becoming a sannyasi. During the 20th century, Vaishnavism has spread from India and is now practiced in many places around the globe, including North AmericaEuropeAfricaRussia and South America. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in Vaishnavism is centered on the devotion of Vishnu and his avatars. According to Schweig, it is a "polymorphic monotheism, i.
The Vaishnava sampradaya started by Madhvacharya is a monotheistic tradition wherein Vishnu Krishna is omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent. Vaishnavism precepts include the avatar incarnation doctrine, wherein Vishnu incarnates numerous times, in different forms, to set things right and bring back the balance in the universe. When all other vaishnavas recognise Krishna as one of Vishnu's avatarsthough only the krishnaits identify the Supreme Being Svayam BhagavanBrahmana source of the Tridev with Lord Krishna and his forms Radha KrishnaVithoba and othersthose manifested themselves as Vishnu.
This is its difference from such groups as RamaismRadhaismSitaism, etc. In Vishnu-centered sects Vishnu or Narayana is the one supreme God. The belief in the supremacy of Vishnu is based upon the many avatars incarnations of Vishnu listed in the Puranic texts, which differs from other Hindu deities such as GaneshaSurya or Durga. In the Krishnaism group of independent traditions of Vaishnavism, such as the Nimbarka Sampradaya the first krishnaite sampradaya developed by Nimbarka c.
Krishnaism is often also called Bhagavatism—perhaps the earliest krishaite movement was Bhagavatism with Krishna- Vasudeva about 2nd century BCE —after the Bhagavata Purana which asserts that Krishna is "Bhagavan Himself," and subordinates to itself all other forms: VishnuNarayanaPurushaIshvaraHariVasudevaJanardanaetc.
Krishna is often described as having the appearance of a dark-skinned person and is depicted as a young cowherd boy playing a flute or as a youthful prince giving philosophical direction and guidance, as in the Bhagavad Gita. The power of sound is profound, tangible and yet mystical.

It contains all of the standard songs sung in Krishna temples every day, as well as many bhajans devotional songs traditionally sung during special occasions, festivals, and other devotee gatherings. This book was compiled by Acyutananda Dasa, one of Srila Prabhupada 's early disciples; Srila Prabhupada himself authorized the project and wrote the book's Foreword. He mentioned many times that such songs are nondifferent from the Vedic mantras:.
Songs composed by the acharyas are not ordinary songs.
गौड़ीय वैष्णव गीत
When chanted by pure Vaishnavas who follow the rules and regulations of Vaishnava character, they are actually effective in awakening the Krishna consciousness dormant in every living entity. I have advised Sriman Acyutananda Swami to sing more songs of the Vaishnava padavali and record them in books so that my disciples and others in the Western countries may take advantage of this chanting and thus advance in Krishna consciousness more and more.
Available at the Krishna. O venerable Vaishnava, O ocean of mercy, be merciful unto your servant. Give me the shade of your lotus feet and purify me.
I hold on to your lotus feet. I do not find the strength to carry on alone the sankirtana of the holy name of Hari. Please bless me by giving me just one drop of faith with which to obtain the great treasure of the holy name of Krishna.
Krishna is yours; you have the power to give Him to me. The six faults are overeating, attachment to material things, inability to follow regulative principles, sense gratification, useless idle talk, and impure habits. The six positive qualities are enthusiasm in practicing devotional service, firm faith in devotional processes, a strong desire to attain prema-bhakti, a favorable service attitude, avoidance of non-devotees, and appreciation of the company of devotees.
The six methods of association are to go to an assembly of devotees, to invite devotees into one's home, to discuss and hear devotional topics, to take the maha-prasada of devotees and to offer maha-prasada to devotees.
O mind, just worship the lotus feet of the son of Nanda, which make one fearless. Having obtained this rare human birth, cross over this ocean of worldly existence through the association of saintly persons.
Day and night I remain sleepless, suffering heat and cold, wind and rain. For a bit of flickering happiness I have vainly served wicked and miserly men. This life is tottering like a drop of water on a lotus petal; therefore you should always serve and worship the divine feet of Lord Hari.
O Lord, forgetting You and coming to this material world, I have experienced a host of sins and sorrows. Now I approach Your lotus feet and submit my tale of woe. After appearing briefly, You abandoned this poor servant of Yours. As a dear son fondled in the laps of attentive relatives, I passed my time smiling and laughing.
The affection of my father and mother helped me forget You still more, and I began to think that the material world was a very nice place. Day by day I gradually grew into a young boy and began playing with other boys.
Soon my powers of understanding emerged, so I diligently studied my school lessons every day. Proud of my accomplished education, I later traveled from place to place and earned much wealth.
